No MTN coverage for townships!!!!
Last week I was here writing a review about this similar incident. We have a problem with a tower in our area (Soshanguve) supplying LTE coverage and other services. But for the past 4 weeks, this tower goes down on weekends (and no its not down due to loadshedding), either from Friday or Saturday, during which reporting of the incident is totally useless since there is no weekend staff. And come Monday, we call to report and we are told that they are aware of the incident and are working on it, last week the tower went down on Friday the 7th of February and only came back online on Wednesday the 12th of February. According to MTN, any "tower is not supposed to be down, not even for a couple of hours, the incident becomes classified as severe and needs urgent and immediate action". How is it acceptable that this tower stays off/down for days, leaving us with no access to internet or calls.
Does the area in which the tower resides change the urgency of resolving the matter? Are data/airtime costs different because the tower is in a township/rural area? Right now the tower has been down since Sunday 16th of February and it is still not back online today 18th of February. This tower resides in a university community (3kms away from Tshwane University of Technology) with hundreds of students and staff relying on these services. I am not sure what is regarded as "urgent" by MTN. And last week on my post about this same problem, some agent told me to call "MTN coverage", yes I called them, several times even and they could barely hear me because the tower for that service is down.
