No international roaming service available from MTN

I upgraded my Samsung Galaxy S7 edge to a Samsung Galaxy 8 Plus in December 2017. From previous bad experience with MTN roaming after an upgrade I always check that international roaming is still active and especially so since I was to travel to Denmark and Germany in January 2018. Needless to say it was not active and had to spend half a day trying to get operational. I was fuming when I got home and went to see the MTN SP shop on Rietfontein road in Boksburg, who confirmed that it was active. I subsequently phoned MTN and they too confirmed it was active. As a final check I called MTN on Friday the 16th of March prior to my flight on the 18th and again they confirmed it was active. I arrived in Frankfurt this morning and am now seething having again been let down MTN. As a precaution I made sure I had the international number to call them which I have just done resulting in a complete failure as their platform could not recognize the the FSK customer query PIN number. This is just completely unacceptable and unless resolved immediately I will be writing to the NCC as well as ICASA and go viral.
