No Hope of every getting hold of MTN Retentions Department

have a cellphone contract at MTN. I am overdue for an Upgrade but I DONT WANt an Upgrade i would like to cancel it.I am based in Vereeniging Gauteng. I went to the store on Tuesday 2/5/17 to cancel my contract i was told at the shop they can not assist me as i must call 808 and cancel my contract myself. Since Tuesday afternoon till current date i have been on the phone the whole day.i have spoken to conless operators saying they cant help me only retention department can help me. I frustrated because if been on my phone for hours on end listening to an annoying tone. What is weird is that when i choose the option on the operator to upgrade phones are answered.....I mean the company has made it impossible to cancel the contracts in store, BUT did not make provision to help custermors on the call line with cancelations. I went on Friday 5/5/17 back to the MTN store which i went to on Tuesday to ask fir helo since i cant get through to the Retentions Department at MTN. We attempted agian to call 808 @ the ship but no answer at the retention department the assistant gave me their email adress and told me there is nituing more she can do for me. Back at hone i send the retention department but i only got this response.......

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for your continued support.
This email serves as acknowledgement of your request.
