No coverage,Dropped calls, No internet connection

We are experiencing planned electricity outages due to non-payment to Eskom by our local municipality. Consequently according to MTN coverage Department, there will be no signal or a very poor signal during these outages. Surely MTN should install back-up to cope with these planned electrical outages. It apparently also takes hours for the tower to reboot. It took three phone calls before anyone bothered to answer my logged queries and then only to be told that's tough but there is nothing we can do about it. No power, no signal. This impacts hugely on our community. Effectively we have no means of communication in an emergency. It is impossible to run a business like this. When we need to make calls, there is no network connection. Emails are impacted as well as there is no internet connection. Surely MTN could find a solution to help us as a community.

Thank you. Looking forward to their response as the consultant, I spoke to from your Coverage Department this morning, indicated that there was no solution. This problem will be arising frequently as more and more of these small local municipalities default on their Eskom payments. The impact on the whole community with regards to struggling with cell phone reception especially in an emergency is severe. Some sort of back-up plan is required.
