No action after 2 weeks of requests

MTN set a credit limit 12 years ago. 2 weeks ago they cut off ALL accounts due to credit limit reached. However I have a contract phone that is supposed to have NO credit limit. I tried to call MTN but no numbers were working. Eventually after going into a MTN store, the store staff were told that an email had to be sent to increase the credit limit. This was 2 weeks ago and NO action has been forthcoming from MTN.

I have tried to call and increase the credit limit to be told I have to do this at store level. At store level I am told I need to do this via telephone. There is not one single person I can contact to help get my credit limit increased! For a communications company there is NO communication at all and I cannot get an answer. Not I am paying out of bundle rates which has seen my bill increase from a couple if thousand a month to almost R10 000 a month because no one can help me. I am disgusted.

This service is completely unacceptable and pathetic.

Hello Wendyavh,

Thank you for your post.

We are terribly sorry for the inconveniences that you experienced as a result of this. We completely understand the frustration it has caused.

Kindly be advised that the credit limit on your account is determined after your credit history and rating has been evaluated in accordance to the National Credit Act. This determines the maximum amount that a creditor will be allowed to borrow. Please be advised that your credit limit is set on R 4000.00 based on your monthly average spend. The Credit Management department cannot increase your credit limit.

Your line has been unsuspended, please be informed that the credit limit will only be applicable after the bill cycle. This means that your line is open until the next bill cycle whereby the Risk plan will kick in if the credit limit is reached.

Rest assured, it is not our intention to displease you. We look forward to improving on the service delivery to you.

Regards,
Ayanda
