Ngikhathele, I've had enough.

I have been with MTN since 2004. During December I upgraded my contract and took a Huawei P30 Lite which, in Jan, I insured through MTN. on the 9th of August I lodged a claim for my ****** device and, After calling for 4 weeks with no response and eventually escalating the matter to the manager (around 31 August) who promptly came back to me with a letter dated 14 August from their insurance, Guardrisk, my claim was rejected.

The grounds for the rejected claim were that I didn't have my insured sim card in my insured device at the time of the theft and this is based on the assumption that I was informed of this. I disputed that I was ever informed and asked to get a copy of the recording from the day I took up the insurance. They (management) listened to the recording and, according to what they heard, the agent didn't inform me of the terms and conditions which meant that I have a valid dispute.

BUT, this morning, I received a sms informing me that my claim remains unsuccessful on the grounds that they sent me a sms and, I have called the customer care asking them to produce evidence that I RECEIVED the sms with a link of the terms and conditions that their system supposedly reports that I did get, like a delivery report.

I still await this evidence and, in the meantime, I don't have a phone and the amount of inconvenience caused is obviously not their problem. I cannot wait to be done with this contract so I don't have to ever deal with this expensive network ever again. I will happily port to a different network after being with this network for about 16 years.
