New contract phone application

I app**** for a new phone contract online and I was told the turnaround time was 24 working hours. More than 24 working hours have passed so I phoned the MTN sales department to check the status of my application the reply was did it is still processing now this I do not mind what I do mind is that I get no notification about it. I was told 24 working hours I waited that time but I get no feedback from MTN on the status of my application then other than that the person at MTN attending to my call treats me like garbage. If you cannot keep within the 24 working hours then don't give that time frame.
