Never Use MTN as your phone service if you don't want to be listed!!

<p>I had a phone contract with MTN from the days they started out, in fact 4 numbers, but eventually I decided to move away to Telkom due to improved pricing. As my last number expired it's contract in June 2015 I decided to finish the contract completely in August 2015 and contacted them to discontinue my service at MTN customer care. The lady helped me and asked if I would like to keep the number as pay as you go. I rep**** yes and she said all is ok the contract is cancelled and proceeded to give me the 1st of many rference numbers. The following month I received an account, so I sent an email to them to inform them that this account was closed, Oh my it took about 2 weeks or more for them to respond and give me another reference. This continued for a few months back and forth as eventually one of the agents sent a mail through with a few important reference numbers explaning that the account should be closed and that I the client was concerened that this would excalate. Well it did and last month I was contaced by the company VVM to threaten me and tell me that I was now listed. A bunch of bullies to say the least. While I have told them I am prepared to meet them in court they still persist. Now they say to make it go away I must provide them with a copy of my ID , an affidavit and 6 signatures, well I say why the hell should I. MTN has a copy of my ID, the know they have messed up and they have all my details and signatures. I provided this company with the refrence numbers and between them and MTN they need to sort it out themselves. The provide you with a legal email from VVM and also *** . Out of principle I will employ an attorney to sue them if they don't sort it out soon so just remember when you you are choosing a cell phone provider, this is what lies in store for you too as I don't believe this incident is iisolated if they have their own mail address at VVM. Oh and VVM will constantly harras you. Why use a company like MTN who are clrearly ************ if you look at the fine they got in Nigeria for breaking the law. $5 billion. They are still trying to worm their way out of that one oh and they forgot to tell their share holders until after the fact. It is clear that when you choose your phone provider you should use Vodacom or Telkom. </p>
