Never send your phone to MTN for Repair

I bought a Nokia Lumia 630 on the 16/07/2015, not even a month afterwards the phone just died on me at work, I took it in to Foschinni were I bought it on the 14/08/2015, the lady took it in for repair, on the 1/9/2015 I got a sms that it will cost me R2518 to be repaired, a whole R1000 more than what I have bought it for, I told them but the phone is under warranty why so much, no the technician saw the is liquid damage, I was not even close to something liquid how can that happen. and why so much for repair. I thought I will just do a sim card upgrade and buy a phone I like. one lesson to be learned don't trust a place where you bought a phone and don't even trust MTN for repair cause they lie what is wrong with your phone just to make money.

Hello MoniqueRieb,

We are truly sorry for any inconvenience caused.

A technician can and will only deem a device liquid damaged if the LID (Liquid Indicator) has been triggered/changed colour. Please also note that any liquid/moisture damage does void any warranty on the device as per the manufacturers policies.

The LID is the little white paper found on the back of the phone under the battery on the motherboard. We will suggest that you call our High Volume Repair Centre on *** and request to be provided with the report and pictures of the damage the technician found on the device.

Regards
Tim
