Never purchase a mobile contract from MTN

I have 4 mobile contracts, 3 with MTN and 1 with Autopage, which were being debited from a now closed Business Account. I instructed our Manager to transfer all debit orders to a new Business Account. She contacted Autopage and it was sorted out within an 1 hour

Last week I went to the MTN Branch. I was told that I needed a letter from the Business authorizing the changes, a Letter from the New Business authorizing the debit orders, a copy of the Bank Statement of the new business account, a copy of my ID. My accounts were already I arrears. So I settled to outstanding debts.
Today I returned with all the requested the documents. The Manager, Ms Fazila told me that the documents were good not enough. They wanted the person from Company who had originally authorized the contract, to sign new forms. That Director is no longer in the Company. I had a Company letter signed by the Chairman of the Board but this was not acceptable. Fazila stated that even if the original person had died, they would require a Death Certificate. I was told that if 100 years had passed, MTN would still need that person's signature. I immediately tore up my papers and cancelled all my MTN contracts

Hello ksmoodley,

We are truly sorry for the breakdown in service and for the inconvenience caused. It was never our intention to have dissatisfied you in any way.

We can confirm that we will require a company letter from the business authorising us to update the banking details, with an ID book copy of the authorised signatory.

We can confirm that the same signature of the previous signatory is not needed with any requests from the time they exited the company. We will be taking up the matter with the regional manager for the store and request that you be contacted directly.

Regards
Tim
