NASHUAMOBILE/MTN PROOF OF PURCHASE

We have 4 contracts, handsets are still under guarantee. Early Jan my son's phone stopped working. Went to a store in Tokai, stood in a long queue. Eventually were assisted & asked for proof of purchase (POP). With Nashua we simply took our phones in, all the details were on their system. I told them I didn't have proof & was told they couldn't help.
I then phoned the call centre & was told the same story & responded saying I didn't have POP & how come MTN didn't have this info? Was told there was a glitch with the takeover from Nashua & they didn't have the contracts linked to the handsets.
I was told to take the handset in, the repair centre would follow up and obtain POP. Phoned handed in on 5 Jan, received a quote some weeks later for R394. Phoned in, sent emails, given incorrect Nashua email & phone contacts to obtain POP. Eventually accepted quote and continued battle. Eventually got the correct Nashua phone no. Chap said all he does is provide POP to customers. Sent POP to MTN, after lack of response phoned again to be told I've accepted the quote & must pay. Have paid under duress & given MTN 7 days to refund failing which Small Claims Court here we come.

Hello markdel,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

We appreciate that you have made us aware of the issues that you were faced with regarding the faulty handset.

I apologise for any inconveniences caused as a result of this. I understand the frustration that you endured in your attempt to have the issue resolved.

Unfortunately, the IMEI number and Job Card number have been left out of your post which does delay the resolution time. Please liaise with the repair centre directly on *** in order for them to assist further.

Thank you
Wenzile Masina
