My horrific MTN Experience
I entered a data-only contract with MTN at the end of July and realized that the data allocation was not the same that I agreed on over the phone, to put it into point form, these are the challenges I've faced so far, not a single one resolved in 4 months now.
- Sent first E-Mail querying the issue on the 29th August - I have requested to be contacted directly, in MTN's defense, they did call back, let the phone ring twice and dropped it and proceeded in E-Mailing me that they tried getting hold of me. - I have visited a branch TWICE and been told to call 135 - Called 135 got put on hold and then got hung up on at least 3 times after waiting more than 10mins. - Requested telephone recordings of initial conversation, as I was told a recording will be made available to me at my request. I was then told to go back into the branch to listen to the recording with a supervisor because MTN doesnt send recording out for security reasons. - I then decided that I want to cancel the contract only to be told that Ill have to pay a contract cancellation fee to cancel it. Meaning Ill have to pay to get out of a contract that I did not agree to and still waiting for the telephonic conversation? - I went back to the branch on Friday the 4th and the supervisor told me she's never heard of a case where a supervisor has to listen to the recording with a customer. She also said she was busy with a report and will respond in time. - I followed up with her on the 9th of November, she said their systems are down, today is the 17th of November, still nothing. - Included in this data-deal is music streaming data, on Monday the 14th, my anytime data ran out but still have 7GB for streaming, I then found out that your streaming data requires anytime data to work. How does that make any sense at all? - On the 17th of each month my data packages come in, today I check my data balances and instead of 20GB of anytime data, I only have 10. I have E-mailed the supervisor of the branch again and E-Mailed customer care again.
At this point I have no idea where to next
