MTN’s systemic failure and bully tactics: An ongoing nightmare since 2024
I have been trying to resolve a month-to-month contract issue with MTN and Mondo since mid-2024, and the treatment I have received is beyond unacceptable. I was misinformed regarding charges at the point of sale, and since then, I have been trapped in a deliberate cycle of incorrect billing and silence. MTN even logged a router collection request under reference RCO611282, yet they never arrived to collect the device, and they have continued to bill me for a service I was actively trying to terminate.
It is abundantly clear that MTN is ignoring me on purpose to frustrate me into giving up so they can win. This is not a series of errors; it is a calculated strategy. If you look at social media platforms like TikTok, Twitter, and Facebook, it is evident that I am not the only one. Hundreds of customers are reporting the exact same pattern: MTN makes a mistake, fails to fix it, and then resorts to bullying tactics by ignoring the customer while weaponizing their credit profile with negative listings. They use their status to silence customers and force compliance through financial ************.
My experience has been defined by blatant avoidance. I have reached out via email, in-store visits, and social media channels only to be met with canned responses. I logged a new query in January 2026 under case reference number ***, and after a nearly 20-month history of being ignored, I received a generic apology promising feedback within 24-72 hours, which has, predictably, yielded absolutely nothing. This is on-brand for them—they ignore this platform just as they ignore me everywhere else.
This conduct is a clear violation of the National Credit Act and the Consumer Protection Act. I am finished with the automated "we have received your email" responses. I demand the immediate cancellation of my account, a full reversal of all disputed charges, and the removal of the negative listing from all credit bureaus. Consider this my final attempt at public resolution before I escalate this matter to the Credit Ombud and the National Consumer Commission.
