MTN's R299.00 30GB Data Bundle ****

Sometime in 2022 I received a call from an MTN consultant about a data deal for R299.00 per month. The deal was for a 30GB Data Bundle per month ( Account ***) . I repeatedly asked the consultant to confirm that the monthly charge was fixed at R299.00 and she confirmed with a resounding YES. The first few months the billing was perfect and then suddenly the montly charge started to increase. I went into their festival mall branch to enquire and they said their system was down. I went to their Greenstone Branch and they locked the call to request the recording from the company that sold me the package. MTN had contracted this company to do their telemarketing, the company is based in somewhere in the South of Johannesburg. They promised to send the recording which would have confirmed that I only agreed to the deal because I was promised the monthly charge would be fixed at R299 for the duration of the contract. Today, the monthly invoice has quadrupled, and I am now being charged over R1200 and have topped using the sim card two years ago.
