MTN's Pathetic Service with regards to *****.

I fell victim to Identity Theft around 2 - 3 months ago. My ID and other personal credentials were used to open contracts with MTN, I managed to catch two of the applications and have them stopped before they were fully processed, however, the very first application was approved and the ***** actually managed to get the phone.

The issue I am sitting with now is MTN's utter incompetence to fully cancel the contract that was approved. It has since affected my overall credit score with 58 points. Mind you, 58 points that I have worked extremely hard to building up by being disciplined with the way I manage my finances and paying all of my legitimate accounts on time every month.

I have phoned MTN several times in the months that have gone by and I have gotten answers such as, the case came back in my favour and that I do not need to worry about it anymore as well as, I will not be responsible for paying for the accounts with MTN. I have since then received TWO calls from MTN's collections department after telling the first person that phoned me to refer back to MTN as I was under the impression that this matter was sorted out and that I won't be responsible for the payments.

I find it disgusting how these major companies could not give a **** whether or not these types of matters affect ordinary individuals. All they care about is collecting money, which they are more than willing to make your life a living nightmare for, but will half ass after sales service and/or ***** matters.

I am at my wits' end with MTN and their refusal to just simply cancel a ********** contract for which I have comp**** and provided all of the documents they requested and followed the entire process from the beginning till the end.

This is affecting my life/credit score that I WORKED FOR, only to have it ruined by some **** bag and an *********** business that cannot carry out a complete cancellation.

It is no wonder people are becoming tired of the cellular industry. They are quick to take your money but have all sorts of issues with cancelling contracts whether they are legitimate or **********.
