The payment option requires no long-term contract lock-in, credit checks, or completing complicated paperwork, the operator said, Sep 1, 2020. After seeing the “MONTH TO MONTH” deals that MTN advertised, I went to the La Lucia Mall MTN Store. I produced the deal that was advertised and enquired about the 220GB sim only that was for R399. A consultant by the name of Nilesh assisted me. After explaining and showing him the deal that MTN was offering, he requested that I produce a bank statement. I asked him, “why should I produce a bank statement when this is only a “Month to Month” deal and that I want to pay cash or I could use my card for payment. He rep**** that, “it is a prerequisite because MTN needs to debit my account” and I need to have a router from MTN. In these articles no bank statement or router is mention. Despite, the info that was being given to him, he asked me if I want to teach him how to do his job. This is not the way he should have spoke to me. He could have called MTN customer service and quired about this deal if he was not up to date with this information. Is this the kind of service MTN offers the consumers? At that stage I asked him to give me MTN’s customer care number and left the store. I tried to get hold of MTN Customer Care, unfortunately only voice message recording is played. Cannot get hold of an operator to speak to.
