MTN's mistake but I should suffer for it!

On Sunday the 7th of March I went to the MTN store at The Glen Shopping Centre in JHB South. This is the closest MTN store to me which is 30km away from home. I was in the store for 2.5 hours. I asked to sign up for a MTN home internet package that was widely advertised – 1TB of anytime data for R 1059 per month including a LTE router. I paid upfront for the sim. The consultant took a long time to find the package on the system and eventually told me that he would load Februarys package as he cannot find the one listed in the book for March on the system. When I had to sign the contract documents, I noticed that the documents listed the 110GB package. I queried this and the consultant explained that it was a system error and that I should not worry. I told him I was not comfortable signing for a 110GB package when it was not what I was paying for – he assured me again that while many people complain, this is just how MTNs systems works. He advised that I would be provisioned data pro-rata and that the full TB data would be provisioned on the 17th. This meant that I would receive roughly 400GB pro-rated. Well… after a lot of phoning the MTN help line when my connection said “Out of Funds” I found out I was indeed signed up for the 110GB package and not the 1TB package (surprise, surprise!). So again, on the 13th of March, I drive 30km to the MTN store to see the consultant, but he was not there. The lady that helped me said that a ticket was logged and escalated and she gave me the reference number. She was very rude and unhelpful and could not advise me at all. I asked if I could cancel the 110GB package that was incorrectly loaded and if she could load the correct package and she told me no, the ticket has already been logged. Today I call MTN to hear how long tickets take to resolve, well 21 days!! I give them the reference number the store gave me and the agent says that that is an old ticket and has nothing to do with the problem I am experiencing. I need data to work (I work remotely) and my kids do online schooling. I feel so desperate and disappointed with the situation I am in. I feel that MTN made a mistake, they should take ownership and they should help me resolve this immediately. Is this too much to ask for??
