MTN's IMPOSITION OF CHARGES FOR DATA NOT REQUESTED OR USED.

In early May 2018 I renewed (upgraded) my contract with MTN for a 0.5 GB per month, 24 month facility at R39 per month. However my first account (as received in June, 2018) reflected a n additional charge for 600 MB data at R99 (which I did not request). I visited MTN, Garden Route Mall, on 2018-06 -22 to query account and was told that the error would be corrected in my next monthly statement. A formal complaint was lodged. When I received my next monthly statement (in July 2018), there was NO correction and again I was charged for another 600 MB of data at R99. I visited MTN agent once more on 2018-07-21 and was again told that the imposition of an additional charge for 600 MB of data would be cancelled and that my account would be reconciled (ref. number 1- ********** 7967, account number: A ********** ). Now, as of today, 2018-07-31, I see that NOTHING has been done and my bank account has been debited yet again for an additional amount of R99. I also emailed MTN on this issue and was asked to submit an affidavit to the effect that I did not request 600 MB of data. So someone within MTN makes an error and the customer must submit an affidavit????? The "service" is disgraceful. And for the record, I have not used any of MTN's data to date. I have a 100 GB ADSL facility with another service provider and do not need MTN's data. Les Thorpe (Mr)
