MTN's Faulty Call Centre and Suspension of Outgoing Calls. My Frustrating Experience as a Business Owner
Dear Hellopeter,
I am writing to report a serious issue with MTN, which has caused me great frustration and inconvenience. I have a cellphone contract with MTN. However, I have been unable to use my phone for the past few days because my outgoing calls have been suspended. MTN claims that I have reached my credit limit of R3000, but I have reason to believe that ***** has been committed on my account. I have not used my phone unusually this month compared to any previous month. My usual bill is R220 and so far this month the MTN app displays my usage so far as R5828.20.
The situation has been made worse by the fact that I run my business from my cellphone, and I am unable to conduct any business until this matter is resolved. Furthermore, I have been unable to get through to the MTN call centre to resolve this issue because my number has been blocked. I have had to use my wife's phone, but the call centre system keeps me in an endless loop, preventing me from speaking to a call centre agent.
This has been an incredibly frustrating experience, and I feel that MTN has failed in its duty to provide adequate customer service. I have sent an email to their customer care, but I have been informed that their response time is 24 hours, which is unacceptable given the urgency of this matter.
I strongly suspect that either someone has committed ***** by using my cell phone number to make calls, or alternatively, MTN has made an error with my bill. In either case, I demand immediate action to resolve this issue. If MTN does not take prompt action, I will take my business elsewhere.
I urge MTN to investigate this matter and take appropriate action to ensure that it provides better customer service to its customers.
