Good morning
The Pandemic left me destitute in October 2020. I made a payment arrangement with the 135 departments, which was cleared on May 4, 2021. I received a call alerting me that I was eligible for a phone upgrade; however, I was declined; they expressed that I had an outstanding amount of R 6,000.
I was handed over to V.V.M. and was told to pay at the store as part of our agreement. Even though I had a payment plan with their debt collector, M.T.N. periodically sent me absurd outstanding sums and demanded that I settle them within 21 days. I would frequently inform V.V.M. of the messages, and they would tell me to disregard them while helping me keep track of my account.
My final payment was scheduled for November 7, 2022; however, as the transaction was being processed, I inquired about the due phone upgrade. The clerk informed me that it was declined due to an additional outstanding balance of R5,000. She suggested that I bring all receipts the following day so that she could escalate this issue to the appropriate department. Furthermore, M.T.N. would constantly be evasive when I asked for financial statements, and instead of conducting due diligence, they'd employ coercive creditor techniques.
I've been a devoted M.T.N. customer since 2010, and my experience has been dreadful. I've had to endure malfunctioning devices, coerced sales tactics, and *********** support, leaving me high and dry when problems arise. "Since my obligation has been paid off, I would like to terminate my contract and no longer wish to be billed or otherwise ******ed with your AIRTIME, DATA, and SMS BUNDLES; therefore, please cease sending them as I won't be liable. Instead of complying with my request, they FORCEFULLY continue to send me DATA, AIRTIME, and SMS BUNDLE!
I can't take it anymore when M.T.N. takes advantage of me and threatens, "MY STATUS MAY NEGATIVELY REFLECT ON THE CREDIT BUREAUS." All I need are my financial statements so that I can initiate a lawsuit if they de*****ed me in any way.
