MTN's businesses are not integrated, and customers are shoved from pillar to post.
Last year December I tried to get a 5G Router from MTN, via a store franchise. After going through the laborious process, I heard nothing for weeks. Eventually, in March, I got myself the router with a 50GB plan by going online. What was supposed to be a 3-week delivery process turned out to be roughly 6 weeks. And then the router arrives without a SIM. I then go back to the franchise store (because it is closest to me) to get a SIM, but they cannot help me. Then, after going through 2 different call centres, I'm told to go to a direct MTN store. I then go to this store (Bayside Mall), and when I arrive there, I am turned away because of load-shedding. The store manager (Bayside Mall) had no interest in helping me and was keener to get away from the store to go and have a smoke. And now I'm still sitting with a router that doesn't work, and being charged for a 5G service that I am not getting.
