I signed a data contract at an mtn store for a 1TB package. I'll skip over the horrible story about the sale itself. I opted for a static ip so I could access cameras and devices at my house remotely. I struggled when setting it up, ended up calling the call center whom after 5 agents and 2 hours of waiting told me I cannot have a static ip, unless I have a business contract. So I was quite angry, I call the store and asked the salesman, whom after a week of me calling into the store finally gets back to me saying he rectified the problem. I got a notification, the static ip is active with the APN settings. I then proceed to set up my network, only to realize that I get an error on the NAT settings of the ISP. The NAT is so strict that I can't do anything remotely. I call the call center, and again after a bunch of agents and a few hours I get told that I can only get an unrestricted APN with a business contract. Then the beauty of it, the salesman never told me about the so called pro rata, where I get charged pretty much double for the first installment. So after being double debited, unable to use the contract, and then told I have to pay a stupid amount to cancel I hope that I can dissuade others from making my stupid mistake. If MTN can fix my problem, even though the service has been terrible I would be happy to change my rating.
