MTN/HAWAII FALSE ADVERTI*****T
During April 2019 I saw a adverti*****t in MTN booklet of an Hawaii P30 Pro with a watch (worth R5800) when you take the contract.
MTN do not keep the stock of the watch and must be given by Hawaii when the contract has been approved.
No where in the book of MTN does it states that the client must go on a web site of Hawaii to claim the watch and no where does it states that while stocks last.
1st you need to go on the web site (APP) of Hawaii to claim the watch, but how can I go onto a Hawaii APP if the fone is not yet even active.
The MTN consultant that assisted me contacted Hawaii to make sure if there is any stock, but not even the person who assisted the MTN consultant could say if there is stock or not.
Today is it 3 months down the line where MTN is now stating that it is one of those things and refers me back to their terms and conditions (While Stocks last).
No where was I properly informed about the "While Stocks Last" and even while the contract was already active for almost 2 months, I was not told there was no stock anymore.
I feel this is a false manner to obtain clients with the attention not to compensate the client with what is promised on the adverti*****t.
If there is no stock longer, then that adverti*****t should have been removed.
I took out that specific contract for that specific handset with the watch. I did not take the contract for only the handset. If that was the case I would have taken a other contract.
So yes this is really unacceptable for me and it leads me to rather cancel my contract with MTN thats not even 4 months old yet. This is the 1st time in my life that I took a contract and not receiving what is promised on the adverti*****t.
This contract was with MTN, Garden Route Mall, George.
I even made a proposal to MTN to compensate me with a data package worth R200/month that adds up to R4800 saving them R1000 regards to the watch value.
They dont even want to accept that.
Not MTN or Hawaii could tell me there is no stock, but now it is my problem as a client not receiving what was promised by the adverti*****t.
I will never ever refer anyone to MTN and must say my wife have been with MTN for many years. Even she will cancel her contracts with MTN just due to the fact that MTN cant accept responsibility of this incident.
