MTNA- False advertising and *****

I was offered an upgrade telephonically in October. I contracted MTN directly after the call to find out how legit the contract was- they confirmed that it was legit. I accepted the contract which includes data and minutes at a certain price. Come the next month, I received the data but no minutes. I contracted MTN and after multiple calls and being transferred multiple times I was told there was no record that I was meant to receive minutes. I was told no one could assist so I reversed the debit order and sent and email to state I will not be paying further until the issue was resolved. I requested recording of the calls multiple times but till this day I have not received it. My service was suspended and eventually I was called and told to pay the outstanding balance. It was only then that the complaints team managed my query. I was given the data and minutes and was told the issue was rectified. My contract with data and minutes was confirmed via email. I’m January I did not receive my minutes. Again, I spent hours making calls and being transferred with everyone saying they could not help. I logged multiple queries and each got closed without the simple issue being resolved. I still do not have any minutes. Eventually I was told that my contract was data only and no minutes. I explained that I have proof in writing but was told that the MTN service agent made a mistake and I will not be able to receive minutes. Bear in mind that prior when the complaints team managed the account they were able to load the minutes. I then told them it was false advertising and misinformation given to me and that legally they are responsible blighted to provide what was promise or cancel the service. I was then told that if I cancel I will be liable for payments and penalties even though it was their mistake. What nonsense is that?! How am I liable for *****? I still have no received any minutes and it’s been over a month. What is going on? I am definitely switching service providers and I will make sure no one I know stays with MTN.
