MTN, you are proving to be South Africa's most *********** service provider!

I was a satisfied MTN customer, however, Not anymore, that was only until upgrading my Data Sim and cell phone packages in October, but ever since then, I have had nothing but trouble.

Firstly, I couldn’t get proper phone or data signal at home, I spent months and months trying to sort that problem out. At one point I was actually told that there was nothing that could be done to rectify the situation. (Only when I was in the process of cancelling my contracts, did you come up with a solution, which allowed better signal to come into my home. Today another problem arose. I couldn’t connect to the internet and was redirected to the webpage where I could recharge my data, as my data for the month “had run out.” I looked on the MTN app and saw that I had used less than half of the Data allocated to me for the month.

Feeling frustrated, I called your call centre and the call centre agent confirmed that I did indeed use less than half of the portion of data allocated to me for the month. She advised that we wait till midnight to see today’s usage. Fuming, as I use this data for work purposes, I asked to speak to a supervisor. The agent put me on hold for a long time, only to come back to tell me that he would call me back ASAP. When the supervisor didn’t call me back, I tried calling him numerous times, with no success.

I have spent countless money on buying data from Vodacom, because of the various problems that I have encountered whilst using your data network. Firstly, I would like this issue of my “not having data, when I do” resolved, so that I can use the internet, bearing in mind, that with not having connectivity, I lose out on chunks of money, due to my not being able to do my work. Secondly, I would like to be refunded for all the money that I paid Vodacom. Failing this, I will cancel my account and complain to the ombudsman, as this service isn’t acceptable.
