Mtn wrongfully debited my account
I phoned Mtn and got given a cancelation amount that needed to be paid to cancel my contract. They gave me an amount which was paid by the 24 September. We phoned Mtn and they said they had relieved the payment and there was no other amounts outstanding. They still debited my account in the beginning of October. I contacted them and they said they would refund as they debit should have been cancelled. I have still not received the refund. We got all sorts of excuses as to why we had not been refunded. Now Mtn is claiming that that money was outstanding. Why has the story changed all of a sudden and why do we have to pay all the outstanding amounts and cancellation if we were still going to be debited? After being told we would be refunded!!!!
We do apologize for the inconvenience caused.
We received confirmation from our Retentions Department that the amount of R1549.70 is a valid amount outstanding for your invoice dated 26th of September 2015.
This amount was not included in the early termination fee as the debit order for this invoice was already submitted to the bank for debiting. They've confirmed that this amount needs to be paid and the account will be at a R0.00 balance.
There credit reflecting on the account was actually the early termination fees and this will not be refunded.
