MTN Worst Telecommunication Company in South Africa.
I've been a Contract Client since 2007 with MTN, always paying my account. After my 2019 upgrade I found that someone is making calls on my account, MTN logged numerous cases and closed them with no response. Eventually it got out that someone did a simswop on my Daulcall number and were using my account to call from. MTN advised that this is not ***** on their side and it's my problem and were not willing to block the sim or investigate the number being called, nothing to help me stop this. When I ask MTN to block the Daul sim, they block my sim and after numberous calls back and forth it seemed that MTN does not even know how to stop the sim. After months of struggling I finally decided to Cancel the Contract and that had some issues to because I asked for a quotation on how much it would cost me to close the account. MTN immidiately blocked my account, once again for weeks of phoning MTN almost daily to re-activate my Account, I got the Funds to pay the Early Termination fee. I still think it was an MTN staff member that did a simswop on my Dormant Dualcall number, that was inactive for 4 years, as they would have been the only people to see this number during my Upgrade, but MTN will never admit that. All the ********** Call charges I paid for 7 Months is according to MTN my problem. MTN's escalation process is pointless and logging case after case is useless as they just close it unresolved, what is a simple client going to do to them.
To anyone that ever takes up a contract with MTN, good luck because sooner or later you will find out the hard way that MTN is not a Reliable company and the level of service is by far the worst.
