MTN - Worst service provider with zero skills

On the 27th March I called the call to ask what the process if to cancel a contract, when the account holder ( my husband ) has passed away? Both my number and his number is on his name as account holder, mine is on month to month and his on a contract that ends June 2023. They advised to email the death certificate and copy of ID to <***>. I emailed to it to them, and got an automated response with: Reference number: aa0107c7-1ecd-49cf-b656-83fe13fa2eaa . After not receiving a response or any communication from them, I sent the email again on the 14th April, and got a response saying : duplicate. But, still no response on what the next steps are. I then called the call centre again, asking what the status update? I emailed all the documents. They then advised, I needed to go into a branch to cancel the contract. How that makes sense, no one knows. But I then went to the Durbanville branch. Just as useless as the call centre. After I exactly explain what needs to happen: husband contract needs to be stopped and cancelled, because he is deceased. my number to be moved to prepaid, so it can be changed to be one my own name. After the lady asking my that my husband needs to authorize this, I realized again I am dealing with *********** people who do not understand plain english apparently. He is deceased, as per the death certificate I literally just gave her... including the ID with the deceased stamp in it. Right... after an hour... she printed me a paper with a reference number on it saying it will be cancelled. Fast forward.... I get a call from MTN Collections, saying there is outstanding invoices. Enquired what exactly is this for, they say no request was made to cancel the contract for husband's number. They then transfer me to Retention... who said I need to speak to Legal... who then could not help because their systems was down, but also said because no cancelling request was made, I need to speak to Customer Service.... transferred again... to be told I don't need to speak to them I need to speak to Billing. Transferred to Billing... and in true call centre style.. "cant hear me" and the phone goes dead. At this point, fed up, i starting commenting on social media. The agents messaged me and provided them with the same history.... then, they say, they can't cancel the contract, I need to send and affidavit from SAPS first. What?? Ok. then I go and to the affidavit from SAPS, send it through the email provided <***>.... and whole and behold... no response or communication from anyone. The best is still to come, on 23 May, I get a call from MTN asking to speak to my husband. I tell them, what is this in regards to... to which the response is a laughing matter, ridiculous. " We noticed his contract is ending in June, and due for an upgrade... we want to offer him an upgrade" I have no words. What on earth is wrong with MTN? ... and yet... I have no response or feedback on anything.
