MTN WORST SERVICE EVER - **********
MTN WORST SERVICE EVER - ********** MTN DID NOT OFFER ME ANY EXPLAINATION AS TO HOW SOMEONE USED MY CELLPHONE NUMBER TO DRAW MY MONEY AND THEY WILL NOT EVEN ASSIST APPREHENSION OR PROTECT THEIR CLIENTS.
FNB - WORST SERVICE IN THE SA BANKING INDUSTRY. The below incident from 2016 details my experience with FNB and MTN. I received an ewallet from a friend on the 1st of July 2022 and the money was withdrawn by someone else on the 4th of July 2022 - R2500.... I have waiting for the investigator to call me and till today nothing. My number still blocked and i can't access any further money which i desperately need. you would think that since 2016 till today FNB and the cellphone networks would've come up with mechanism to protect their clients. I will never bank with FNB and I do not recommend it to anyone. The only reason i rated FNB 1 star is because there is no zero star rating.
I HAVE BEEN HOLDING ON FOR THE ***** DEPARTMENT NOW FOR 20 MINS AND NO ONE ANSWERS - **********
THIS IS TRULY APPAULLING. SOME PLEASE CONTACT ME. TJO!!!!!!!
FNB shocking service - lost ewallet money It is with great disappointment that I write this review. I have been a loyal FNB client for over a decade. I was always singing their praises in terms of innovation and making the customer banking experience so pleasant and providing solutions to problems that I, as a client, didn't even know that I had. I trusted the security of their products and had a sense that I was protected.
To my surprise and disappointment, this picture was quickly *****ed after losing R2 000 via ewallet. What happened was I send my brother money (R2 000) via ewallet with a pin. He never received a notification sms stating that he received money. When I told him that I sent the money, he checked his balance and theory that I sent didn't reflect. When we contacted FNB about the issue, they said that the money was withdrawn in another province.
We advised that my brother lives alone and that his phone was either with him or in his home. They then advised that they will investigate and revert within 8 to 10 working days. They never came back to me. I contacted them requesting feedback and was told that the person who was handling my case had gone on leave without handing the case to anyone else to takeover and assist in her absence.
The ***** department told us telephonically that the matter had at the time been escalated and that it would take 24-48 working hours for them to revert with feedback. 48 working hours came and passed without any communication from them and my banker couldn't even get hold of them . 20 working days later since the incident was reported, they come back to me to say that my brother is supposed to call Vodacom and check if there has been a sim swap on his number before the money was sent to him. THERE WAS NO NEW FEEDBACK AFTER 20 WORKING DAYS!
I asled them Why did it have to take 20 working days for the ***** department to ask us to request this information from Vodacom? This level of service is totally UNACCEPTABLE to me as an FNB customer. Vodacom told my brother that they couldn't give him any information on the smss as this is private, then what must we do? Who between Vodacom and FNB will assist us?
The reason I used the ewallet service was that it is done through my trusted bank, If I was told that this service was offered by a cellphone company company on its own, I would have opted for other options of sending money. I used it because it was an FNB service. I was thus expecting detailed feedback from FNB when something went wrong with a service that they are offering. I wanted to atleast find out out of which tower was the sms received from, maybe pictures of the person who withdrew the money, etc. Something that I could work with. I am shocked by the lack of care I received when my money is lost the service offered by a bank.
My brother's ewallet account has been unblocked today and to date, this transaction (ewallet deposit and withdrawal of R2000) is not reflecting on his transaction history yet it shows on FNB side. We are however told that it appears that it was withdrawn on the FNB system. We need to understand what happened here and most importantly for the money to be sent to my brother as it was originally intended.
All we received after a month of logging the complaint was that there is nothing they could do and that on their side the money was withdrawn. They didn't even try to be helpful in terms of guiding us who to contact in Vodacom to assist us. The Vodacom people just said they don't have access to smss and that there is nothing they could do.
Under such trying times that we are going through where people have lost jobs and with salary cuts etc, one would think that a bank would be extra helpful in helping a client who lost money through their channel. SHOCKING SERVICE
