MTN WONT CANCEL MY ACCOUNT AFTER 27 MONTHS

I have been trying to cancel my MTN account after being a loyal subscriber and fulfilling my 24 month contract. It is now the 27th month and every time I call the customer care department I cant get through after 30 minutes of waiting. This was in APRIL before the strike was even on the cards. On one occasion a miracle happened and someone answered. They gave me a reference number and told me that, they will get back to me to cancel the contract. It never happened! Even after sending numerous emails nothing has happened. I couldn't even cancel the contract at the MTN branch. Money has just been debited off my account. I want it back! I can open a contract in one day but I can never cancel it. DONT get an MTN contract. You cant stop them from taking money from you.
