MTN will ***** your money. They dont care!!!!!
MTN CELL CONTRACT ***** ALERT!!!!! BEWARE…….YOU COULD BE NEXT, AND YOUR MONEY ****** TOO!!!!!!
MTN PHONE CONTRACTS ARE UNSAFE, NOT SECURE AND GUESS WHAT?? THEY DON’T CARE. Read my story to make yourself aware of the potential loss you too could endure in these tough economic times.
Like my wife and I you could have an MTN phone contract. We’ve had ours for many years, just simple, basic R299 (or less), 2 year deals. In Dec 2020 my wife noticed that on her contract she’d been billed R6172.38 (an over-charge of R5693.64). She immediately called MTN customer care to report the *****. MTN realized ***** had been committed on her account. Someone had *****ently increased her credit limit to R12000 (yes, R12 thousand rand!!!!). How can a fixed contract’s credit limit be increased without your permission??? Why the credit limit in the 1st place with a fixed contract?? We have fixed contracts to manage our phones within a budget, and if our data or airtime runs out we simply buy more, or wait for the next month’s allocation. She was instructed to go to the police station and get a declaration notarized and forward it and all relevant details to MTN which they assured us was sent onto their ***** department for re-imbur*****t. We have reference numbers for every single email. At the same time they blocked her phone. She was unable to make calls. To this day still, 4 months later she still cannot make a call!!! However she is still paying her monthly contract but cannot make a call!! She has phoned and emailed about this 50+ times regarding this while waiting for the ****** money to be re-imbursed. Once again we have all the emails back and forth with reference numbers, with the name of the people who were supposedly helping us.
4 months later, (as at 7th April 2021), (a) the phone STILL does not work, and (b) the R5693.64 has STILL not been re-imbursed despite countless times we’ve followed up on this.
Then shock and horror the next instalment of the drama. Last month my wife’s contract was billed R4786.72 (another over-charge of R4307.98). This was now the 2nd time, 4 months after reporting the initial theft, and 4 months after assurances that it was resolved through their ***** department. So they never fixed the initial theft, and now it happened again. They simply don’t care about their customers. We are out of pocket by R10001.62!!!!! Last week I notified MTN that I am at my wits end and once again forwarded all the correspondence, and reference numbers to MTN customer care and *** that I would be telling my story to whoever would be prepared to listen in the hopes that it my get them to JUST DO THEIR JOB!!!!! I’m very sorry about ranting like this, but I you were I my shoes, going through tough financial times (like we all are with Covid), you don’t need the extra stress and aggravation caused by a huge company that does not give a damn. I will not rest until my ****** money is returned.
Please……if you have an MTN contract check you statements carefully……you could be next.
Cheated MTN customer
