MTN wants you to prove they didn't sell you a phone before stopping *****ulent debit order
MTN created a *****ulent debit order against my Standard bank account to the amount of R4000 (to be deducted 25 Aug 2026) for a *****ulent purchase of an IPhone on 12 Ocf 2023. I have never bought any type of phone from MTN as I cannot afford them. I was told that the debit order stands and the only way I can get rid of it is to submit certified copies of an affidavit and my ID stating that I did not buy a phone. Since when has it become the norm that a victim of ***** has to go to these lengths before a corporate company will investigate and rectify these *****ulent transactions or are there just too many of them happening at MTN, that they will only assist those who swears under oath at a police station that ***** was commited against them . I am a pensioner with extremely limited funds and no transport, it will take ages to get these documents done. Thank you for no assistance whatsoever MTN.
