MTN UPGRADE SAMSUNG _ *******

My husband has just upgraded his Samsung phone via his service provider, MTN. Correct phone arrived, with a data cable but minus a charger, charging cable and earphones On enquiry he was told it is because that "MTN cares for the environment" and a new charger can be purchased at a lower cost through MTN. How do you supply a battery operated device without a means of charging it? If the wrong charger is used and damages the phone you are not covered by any warranty. My husband has been told that it is actually Samsung that has done this - the consumer is the only one disadvantaged by the new scheme yet is the one who is paying for the privilege of being **********. Absolute nonsense
