MTN : unsatisfactory service with NO results

Following my 3 month long saga with MTN, I was finally put in touch with retentions via email. We got to a certain point in the conversation 2 weeks ago, and like had been happening for the two and a half month period before that, all conversation ceased.
The last mail from MTN had said that the final decision lay with the store manager, from whom they awaited feedback. Since I was unable to get any further response or updates, I decided to go and visit the store and the manager. the manager advised that he has no such authority, and ALSO, was not able to call retentions from the store as the staff at the branches do not have a direct line to legal or head office.
The only option apparently is to go to the head office and wait until someone is willing to speak to you.
Not only has my experience over the past three months been absolutely disgusting- I have continued to pay my contract for a phone that I have had no use of- and still experience absolutely unsatisfactory service with NO results. And still, I have no idea what the correct passage is as there are mixed messages internally it seems. I also find it awful that MTN does not empower their on the ground employees.
Hello EVANS PETER,

Thank you for your post.

We apologize for the break down in service and for any inconvenience we might have caused you.

Jabulile Ntshalintshali have called the MTN store The Glen regarding the issue you're having with your I-phone and as per the response I received from them is that the device you brought in has physical damage and according to HVRC's processes, they will have to quote on the repairs of the entire device, if the TC's and C's are not accepted unfortunately the device cannot be booked in and we are also governed by our TC's and C's, therefore device has to be collected from the store if it's not booked in.

The below early termination charges has to be paid upfront before the contract can be cancelled.

R 12,999.00 (i-phone 6 64GB ) /24 = R541.62
x 12 remaining months= R6499.50
unbilled ***.71
total estimated: R7609.21

If you wish to except the quote you may call the repair center on *** and speak to the supervisor to assist you on line.

If you request to make the payment to cancel this line please fax the payment to ***.

Kind Regards,

Alice van der Merwe
