MTN Uncapped LTE Home Starter *******

I have been a loyal MTN customer for as long as I can remember. I recently (January) joined the MTN Uncapped LTE Home Starter package which was R249pm with speeds of up to 10mbps. This however includes a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) where after 100gb of data has been used, internet speed is reduced/throttled to 2mbps down from 10. Cool

Now here is my problem. Not even a month after joining, the price of the package went from R249pm to R269pm. Not long thereafter, I got notified that after the FUP data is used, the speed is then reduced to 1mbps down from 2 .. but wait , there is more.. not long thereafter, another notification is sent that after the FUP data has been used, the speed is further reduced to 512KBps down from 1, which is practically UNUSABLE!

I understand the implementation of the FUP. But why the sudden drastic changes while the price went up? Throttling is one thing but reducing speed to unusable levels is actually UNfair, rendering the FUP policy useless cz then technically it isn't uncapped. When it takes me almost 30secs to download an image from a Whatsapp conversation, how is that FAIR?

For anyone wanting to get this deal, dont. 512KBps is as useless as an ashtray on a motorcycle. I will be cancelling mine soon. Better off getting those App Exclusive deals with that R269. Its an absolute shame
