MTN unable to assist with RICA Barring

I recently ported from Vodacom to MTN, and my phone is not connected to mobile network. It keeps saying the number is RICA barred. I went into the MTN store and they checked the RICA status and the sim is correctly RICA'd but I am still sitting without a working sim
