MTN Trade Route Mall

I opened a contract at the MTN Store located at the Trade Route Mall on Friday, 12 July 2018. I started utilising the phone the following day.

I took this phone back on the 15 July 2018 due to the fact that when I charge it, it heats up at the sensor and camera. I took this back to the store and experienced the most horrific customer services, namely –

1. I asked them that they need to replace the phone as I am not prepared to purchase a brand new phone that is faulty from the onset, the consultant advised that it cant be changed and needs to be sent for repairs.

2. I then asked them to cancel this contract as I was no longer interested in doing business with them, the one consultant had the audacity to threaten me and tell me that upon cancellation I have to repay the full contractual value?

Again i received a call today from the branch encouraging me to come and take the phone back and should the device give me problems within 6 months i should take it back to the manufacturer.

Really what is happening!!!!!

What is happening with the MTN promise “ striving to excel in our customer service through continuous improvements and to build long lasting relationships with our customers"?

I would strongly advise customers to seek alternative cellphone providers who are prepared to go the extra mile and Trade route Mall is definitely not it
