MTN TOOK LEGAL ACTION AGAINST ME FOR NO REAL REASON AND TARNISHED MY NAME!

I have been in the countless end on end emails, phone calls that I made myself to MTN and even took the liberty to go to the store to be a good citizen and pay my accounts up in full, Yet upon "closure" of my contract, MTN has the audacity to escalate me to their legal department and take serious action against me yet my emails have gone unanswered on numerous occasions.

I queried why my account is in arrears, I've indicated that I would like to terminate my contract as it would be the last month of paying my contract back in 2020., all these emails and time wasted going to store, wasting my own valuable time and money has gone to waste as the MTN staff cannot perform simple admin tasks to ensure that my contract is terminated on last payment backdating to June or July of 2020.

Almost a year passed by since my contract has ended and there has been no contact with MTN informing me that they are taking these steps against me, nor emails, or even a letter, yet action has been taken against my name and my credit score dropped drastically. My credit rating has taken such a significant knock that I was unable to perform any sort of enquiries as a "red alert" already came upon systems of which I was totally unaware.

I was turned away before even starting an application wherever I went.

This is totally uncalled for. I immediately went into the store, spoke to customer service representatives and they kept telling me that the issue has been escalated and would be dealt with however there was no good responses or assurity that MTN will fix what they have done without performing their due diligence as I believe there has to be some sort of track record of me following up on my accounts, emails that came through to their support/queries department and so forth, yet I am always being told that the issue has been escalated and that there is nothing that they can do as I am a ******** for not paying my accounts.

I performed research on my own to get in contact with the legal departments and finally when I took this up and queried my account indicating that I have been a good payer and always paid my account on time without hesitation, I was advised by Errol Maistry and I quote " We apologise for any inconvenience experienced.Please be advised that this contract has been cancelled and a request has been sent to the credit bureau to update the credit profile. This process has a turnaround time of 7-14 working days and that is if there are no challenges that affect the turnaround time."

As a customer who was accused of a ******** act and who was taken legal action against for no good reason but of poor admin duty and incompetence, I feel utterly disappointed and disgraced of being an MTN customer.

I had thanked Errol for getting back to me and was lenient to accept the terms of 7 - 14 business days for my credit rating to be brought back to normal, however, I demanded a letter from MTN Management stating that this was an error on their end and proof of them submitting the required letters for my credit rating to be corrected at the relevant credit bureau.

I sincerely requested that this be given to me on Wednesday 27 Jan 2021. Up until today, there is no response at all and I am not sure how I can proceed with my future endeavors as this has affected me only in a negative manner.

I require 100% assurity from MTN that this will not affect me in the future.

I still demand from MTN a written letter to confirm that the error was on their side and I was wrongly handed over to the legal department who took false action against me for not paying a contract account. It must state that I was incorrectly incriminated and degraded and that this was an error from the MTN side and that I was not at all at fault and was a good payer which is the honest truth.

I will honestly never recommend any family or friends perform any business with MTN after this horrible experience, as I can see just how much of these events have taken place over the years.

I hope that this review will be seen by many and be a warning to those that perform business with MTN. The public needs to know of MTN's atrocities.
