MTN threatens to black-list a Pensioner who is owed R14K+ by MTN for ***** on MTN account

On 10 January 2018, I posted a review on Hello Peter about MTN owing a pensioner R14K+ for unauthorised and ********** deductions from her bank account. I received a reply from a "Complaints Analyst" saying they are investigation the matter. They took care to highlight that a third party vendor was involved, which reads like an outright shirk of MTN's responsibility towards the customer.

Since this reply from MTN, even with me trying to elicit a further response via Hello Peter, no further updates were offered.

The only action MTN took was to now hand the pensioner over for the ********** and unauthorised deductions they can no longer make from her account because it was blocked by her bank.

These deductions they still want to make is from a pre-paid account that was closed in 2015. I will leave that with you to sink in. Deductions not only for one number, but two more accounts that were **********ly linked to the primary pre-paid account and deductions were made from the Pensioner's bank account, more than R14K's worth.

Will it take an email to Rob Shuter to resolve this? I sincerely hope not.

Dear Alice, I have now sent you all of the documentation you required plus a whole lot more and still I have no response from you. I have also sent you reminder emails after you said I will receive a recording in 48 hours, which I did not receive. Do you care to explain why? It is concerning to witness how brazen MTN is in consistently demonstrating worst-in-class customer service and support. Best, Paula
