MTN THEFT AND *****
One clearly cannot trust the MTN agents who phone from their call centers. I received such a call in April last year (2023). I asked for information should I decide to change from Vodacom to MTN and also asked for information on their ****les. The agent said he would e-mail me and then asked me for all my details to do a credit check should I decide to move to MTN. He also asked for my banking details. I didn't want to give it, but then he said it was for the credit check. I wasn't thinking clearly and gave it to him and I now realise my mistake and that he clearly ******* me. I also stated several times that I was committing to nothing. A few days later I received an e-mail from him stating I should click on a specific link if I only want a sim card and on another if I wanted a ****le and a sim card. I clicked on neither as I had decided I didn't need a ****le. A month later a courier company phoned me wanting a delivery address for my package from MTN. I told them I don't have a contract with MTN so they should return the package to MTN. A month later I started receiving invoices from MTN and monies were being deducted from my bank account without my permission. I e-mailed MTN customer care. They sent a response with questions which I answered. Since then nothing has happened. I don't have a sim card for MTN and I don't have a ****le. This is theft and *****. Two weeks ago I e-mailed the MTN legal department and still no response. They leave me no other option but to file a complaint with ICASA and a case of theft and ***** with the police. Why am I paying for something I don't have, not have I agreed to it. Their agent was dishonest, ******* me and should face charges of *****.
