MTN Theft

I would strongly advise against opening an account with MTN. I made the mistake of doing so, and when I decided to close the account, I was required to pay a substantial early termination fee. While I accepted that charge, the real issue is that the account was never properly closed—despite my visit to the MTN branch at Kalahari Mall and direct communication with the Area Manager confirming the closure.

Months later, I was shocked to be contacted by a debt collection agency regarding the same account. Even after explaining the situation and providing proof that I had followed the proper closure process, I have now been handed over once again for an account I no longer use and was assured was closed.

MTN is quick to sign customers up and take their money, but their after-sales service and account management are severely lacking. This ongoing experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. I feel that this behaviour from the company can be seen as Theft. Yes you heard me MTN *****s from their Customers.
