MTN - The most pathetic service experience I have ever encountered

I moved in 2006 from MTN to Cell-C for better pricing. Then onto Vodacom, then to Telkom. I had good memories from MTN and up to this event, considered them on equal standing with the likes of Vodacom - The top two Telecoms companies no doubt. But in the last month and a half, I experienced the most unbelievably horrible service from MTN. THAT is how long it took me to get a contract data SIM and modem delivered to me. Their Call Centre is beyond useless - No one has access to nothing and the lines are inaudible most of the time (working from home ??) I tried ordering Online - Goes well enough - you get your confirmation reference and that's it. Nothing zero zip after that. I complained and called and send a million emails. Ordered online a second time. Same thing. Ref Nr received - Nothing after that. I finally gave up and went in to the Store. After a long wait they helped me to choose a contract but then told me no stock. They will call me when it is ready. One week, two weeks passed. I gave up again. Went into the store and they said rather call MTN Dial direct - they always have stock... So I called them. No stock. But they said they will order prompto. Waited one week, nothing. Then a company named Mondo starts calling and emailing me. Turns out those Online orders have been outsourced to Mondo to assist MTN to cope with the backlog... No communication from MTN on this whatsoever. I told Mondo to go to hell. Finally got word from Dial Direct. They received stock. First good news. I got my Modem and SIM after about another week! Been spending the past 3 hours of my Friday evening trying to activate my SIM. MTN call center - still useless. MTN Dial direct - doesn't operate weekends. I cannot imagine a worse possible experience with an ISP. I really can't. I have no choice in terms of provider as only Vodacom and MTN service my area, and I already tried Vodacom. I hope MTN's network performance can somehow make up for all of this, but I would surely warn anyone that values their sanity to stay miles away from MTN !!
