MTN TARNISHED MY CREDIT RECORD DUE TO INCOMPETENCE

I opened a contract with MTN in December 2018. It was for 20 GB day & night data for approx R600 a month. In December, the very same month my account was opened MTN erroneously deducted R2k from my account which was returned thereafter. I visited Clearwater again and was informed it was a mistake that would not happen again. The next month, January 2019, MTN deducted approx. R4k & in February they continued to deduct 6K from my account which was returned thereafter. The Clearwater store informed me that they logged a call to correct the error, in respect of erroneous debits. 2 weeks went by, still no response. Went back to Clearwater only to find out that a call had not been logged. I refused to leave until a call was logged whilst I was there then eventually left. I returned to Clearwater, in and around March 2019, as I still was not able to access the data and was told that the account was closed from their side and I needed to call MTN Head Office. I told them I wanted to cancel the contract because I was not getting the service I expected nor the data I required. I was informed that could only be done after my account was corrected from their side. IU have since sent several emails and made numerous visits to MTN clearwater in order to expediate this matter and to date I still have no resolution from MTN. MTN to be see the call / reference nos. on each query I had made below:- REF NO. :407836 REF NO.: 451570 REF NO.:*** Now I am in the process of applying for a loan and my bank informed me that MTN handed me over to attorneys because of the INCORRECT / ERRONEOUS DEBITS and the loan was rejected. My bank requires a letter from MTN explaining the incorrect billing and unfair debit orders charged to my account; in order for my finance application to be considered. I had to ask for half a day of unpaid leave at work to try resolve this matter. I went to Head office in Fairlands, 17th July 2019. I was there at 9.00 and only left at 10.45 am. I was informed that MTN had made mistakes in billing me and I would get a letter to that effect by 1 pm as of that day. To date I still have not received same. I am extremely DISGRUNTLED & DISGUSTED by the unfair treatment I have received from MTN ever since opening this contract. It is really unfair that I should be punished and face delays in my finance application because MTN made mistakes. I have relatives that require urgent medical assistance and money and I can’t even help them because my bank is rejecting the loan application. Why has MTN tarnished my credit record and handed me over to legal over an oversight on their part? When can I get a letter to submit to my bank, with MTN admitting the error was as a result of their INCOMPETENCE.

DATA USAGE I have been billed for data usage that I have not used. From the time I had opened my contract, the data was not working, when I visited MTN clear water to rectify this, they advised that my account was closed / suspended and they advised they would log a call to open my account, so I can begin using the data. However this had only been done as of July 2019, although I have still not been able to access the data.

I expect the MTN to rectify this by doing the following:

1. MTN is to provide me with a letter indicating that my credit record is in fact clear and the mistake lay with MTN. I feel unfairly treated and prejudiced by the contract. As MTN due to their own incompetence has tarnished my credit record.

2. I expect this contract to be voided from date of inception, being December 2018, as MTN has failed to deliver as per the terms of the contract & to meet my data requirements as promised to me at inception.
