Mtn taking chanses

Below is all the emails I have sent MTN. This is for a phone that is in for repairs and they claim liquid damage and simply state it is irreparable I must pay them R300 for a phone thats not working. This phone was well looked after and in a cover at all times. If it was due to condensation they still sold me and inferior product because it never happend to any of my other phones. Definitely not due to negligence.

See the emails below and decide for your self if jou would deal with a company like this.

Good day phillip,

Thank you for emailing Customer Care.

kindly be advised that the Repair Department will directly reply to you as soon as they allocate the query.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you require further assistance.

Kind Regards,
Zintle Ziswana
Customer Services
MTN SA

You can now text your query to us! Good Day Philliprerber,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

We appreciate that you have made us aware of the issues that you were faced with regarding the faulty handset. We apologize for any inconveniences caused as a result of this, we understand the frustration that you endured in your attempt to have the issue resolved.

Please note that the handset does not necessarily have to be splashed, soaked or immersed in liquid to be deemed liquid damaged. Excessive humidity and slight moisture can just be as damaging to the circuit tracks on the board. When a device has liquid spotted, at times with a use of a microscope: The micro tracks, plug in points and circuitry that are affected by liquid, are already weakened by the corrosive activity, leading to short circuits and applications ultimately failing to function and the device will show signs of progressive deterioration.

Kindly be advised that we have escalated the matter to the management team of our HVRC (Repair centre) for urgent attention. They will investigate and revert to you with feedback and a way forward.

We would like to assure you that we are actively working to improve our service levels.

Kind Regards,

Zukiswa
