MTN Table View bad service, can't even get to repairs :(

I took a contract for a Nokia 7 Plus about 1.5 years ago, the charging port has started to become faulty. It's a common Nokia fault and even they realise it. I took my phone to the MTN store in Table View, Western Cape. The guy claimed he's a level 5 technician and has the same phone and never had any issues and just kept blaming it on negligence. He said he can book it in but I will have to most likely pay. Why should I have to pay when it's a common fault. I contacted Nokia live support chat and they said it was incorrect for them to say that because the phone is still under warranty. Now my phone is nearly done for and I can't do anything about it. Please help because I live in Paarl, travelling to Cape town just for a phone repair is just too costly.
