On Sunday 11 October 2020 at around 8:30 I tried to log in to the internet and was unable to do so. I then tried to use my phone and there was no signal. Other MTN devices were ok so I new the fault was not on MTN's side. I then checked my bank statement and found out that my debit order for MTN had bounced due to insufficient funds. This is due to the "collective wisdom and foresight" of our Government, (equitable to that of an retarded, adolescent "Amoeba"). They decided to change social grant payments for some recipients from the 1st to the 3rd of the month to avoid crowding at pay points. This included people like myself who have the pension paid directly into a bank account. Any debit orders due on the 1st of the month subsequently bounce and the banks penalize the client and make extra cash!! I then called MTN's customer services number and my call was answered by Mbali. I explained my situation to her and the reasons as stated above. Mbali asked me to hold while she confirmed my details. After a short time she returned and said that my data and cell numbers would be restored and that I was required to pay my outstanding balance by 31st October 2020. I thanked her and rang off. Within 10 minutes of my call my data and cell connections had been restored. Mbali listened and understood. was polite and efficient and a credit to MTN customer services. Thank You Mbali!
