Apple Inc./mtn

Dear Apple Customer Support/Mtn

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration regarding the recent experience I had with my iPhone 14. I believe that Apple's false advertising and the failure of the Find My feature have resulted in the loss of my device, for which I hold Apple liable.

On April 2023, I purchased an iPhone 14 with the expectation that it would deliver on the features and functionalities as advertised. I wish to emphasize that I had indeed enabled the Find My feature on my iPhone 14, and I possess proof and witnesses who can corroborate this claim. Despite taking all necessary precautions, I was unable to locate my device when it went missing.

I subsequently contacted Apple's customer service, where I was informed by a representative that the failure of the Find My feature to provide accurate location information was due to my geographical region, specifically South Africa. However, I find this explanation deeply unsatisfactory for several reasons.

Firstly, there is no existing legislation in South Africa that would prohibit the proper functioning of such a vital feature as Find My. Secondly, I have evidence that contradicts this claim, as other iPhone users in South Africa have been able to utilize the Find My feature successfully, as evidenced by a recent incident where the local authorities recovered a phone just 20 minutes from the location where my incident occurred, through the use of Find My.

Moreover, it is important to highlight that my iPhone 14 is still technically brand new, as it is under a year old and benefits from the hardware warranty. If the iBeacon or any hardware component was responsible for the failure to update the location on Find My, it signifies a significant hardware issue that requires immediate attention. As a consumer, I have the right to expect that the product I purchased functions correctly within the warranty period.

I would like to underscore the fact that I made a considerable financial commitment when I purchased the iPhone 14 blue 256gb, which represents a significant portion of my monthly income as a student earning approximately R2000 per month. My decision to invest in this product was influenced by the features and services that Apple advertised, and I believed that I was making a wise investment in a reliable device.

However, the false advertising and subsequent failure of the Find My feature have not only shattered my confidence in Apple's claims but have also resulted in tangible losses on my part. It is essential to reiterate that my phone had a sufficient battery charge (60%), cellular data enabled, and no relevant features turned off at the time it went missing. Yet, the Find My feature displayed my device as "offline," which is contrary to the information on the Find My website, which states that powered-off or dead phones are still traceable.

In light of these circumstances, I kindly request that Apple take responsibility for the false advertising of its products and the subsequent loss I have suffered. I urge Apple to thoroughly investigate the issues I have raised, including the discrepancies with the Find My feature and the potential hardware-related problems that may have caused its malfunction. Additionally, I expect compensation for the financial and emotional distress I have experienced as a result of these shortcomings.

I value the products and services that Apple has provided over the years, and I believe in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. I hope that this matter can be resolved promptly and amicably. Please note the phone is still under warranty so if find my had an issue how nwas I supposed to know, therefore I hold you liable.I blacklisted the sim and phone so someone inside gave them my cousins number which is on the same contract. How did they know to message *****ulent messages from both companies to her number.its impossible because that number wasn’t even saved on my phone.

Please contact me at ‪‬ *** to discuss this matter further or to provide updates on the resolution process.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
