Mtn supplying phone not traceable with Samsung

I received a cell phone, Samsung s6 edge on contract last week Monday 2017-02-20. Been trying to register the IMEI with Samsung for the ADH premium cover. According to Samsung SA the number does not exist. Tried to resolve the issue with MTN numerous times but no one can find the IMEI number on their system either. I suspect MTN are selling grey products. Am in the process of cancelling my contract. Be warned, stay far away from MTNS big booster packages!

Hi Mike

You assured me that you want to restore my faith in MTN but as yet nobody from MTN has contacted me again. I had to hang on the line this morning yet again to get through to an MTN consultant. I demanded to speak to a supervisor and got through to Louise Green. I informed her that nobody at MTN is interested in dealing with the problem and that I will stop the debit order for the contract with my bank until the problem is resolved. She proceded to tell me that I would be blacklisted. MTN is in breach of contract and selling grey phones and I have been extremely patient in waiting for them to resolve the issue. Now that I want to take action from my side I am threatened. A contract works both ways and I will not fulfill my side if MTN is not willing to fulfill theirs. We can take this to the level of Carte Blanch if necessary to find out where my grey phone actually came from. After much back and forth with Louise she said that RTT will collect my current phone. When my phone is back at the MTN warehouse I wil be issued with a new phone which will then be delivered. She has not said when this will happen or what I am supposed to do without a phone in the interum. Please note, I only got this answer after repeatedly asking her what MTN was going to do about the problem. If fair action is not taken immediately I will take this further. I have been trying to resolve this issue since last week and there has been absolutely zero effort from MTN's side to get back to me or even apologise.

My sincerest thanks to Kefilwe Sepamatla from retentions. I was able to register my phone for ADH and the 24 month warranty after a call from MTN. I have been trying to get this issue resolved for almost two weeks now and she managed to resolve it within a matter of hours. She is a true asset to MTN (unlike every other person I have had the displeasure of dealing with at MTN). The five star rating is for her.
