MTN stores and call centre are not helpful at al
I signed up for a data contract on my pre-existing cellphone number. After a few days I than decided that I don't want to receive data on my cellphone number but on a different number.I called the call center and they advised me to go to my local MTN store. I did exactly that and I was told that that is possible, I should call MTN and get the account number to pay R250 into that account. Called the call center, got the account number and paid the R250 into the MTN POSTPAID CONTRACT PAYMENT. Today i went back to the very same store and I'm now told a different store that once i change the data number i am going to loss my old number. Why wasn't i told this yesterday before I went through all this steps??. I asked what is the way forward since i paid the R250, they said I should call my local bank to get the amount reversed. It cost R295 to reverse that amount. I now call the MTN call centre to at least allocate that amount to my contract since its already in their account, I'm told they can only allocate debt order amount....how is this possible???
MTN stores and call centre are not helpful at all ,through out this whole process i called at least 6 times and non of the consultants helped in any way or manner, you get moved from one consultant to the next. As for the store in Ghandi Square the worst. All they do is refer you to the call centre.
