MTN store recommends hellopeter is the only way to get support from MTN
I tried to use MTN fixed LTE but the connection dropped every time during load-shedding. This was in January 2023. I called to cancel the contract but the 10-day cancellation grace period has expired. I asked if I could return the router but was informed I cannot and will be charged a penalty to cancel the contract. I paid the penalty via EFT and called again to confirm the cancellation. I've also received an email with an attachment with the subject: NOTICE OF CANCELLATION OF SUBSCRIBER CONTRACT.
Even though the contract has been canceled, I am still being billed every month and the debit order is still going off.
I phoned MTN again on the 20th of July - asking to assist in this matter. The only response I get is the contract has never been canceled and the only solution presented to me is I have to go to an MTN store to request the cancellation.
At the MTN store, I am informed they cannot do cancellations, I have to phone MTN customer care. The lady at the MTN store tries to assist by calling customer care on her phone. After waiting for a very long time for somebody to answer the manager of the store came to me and said: sir, it's impossible to get any support from MTN over the phone. My advice to you would be to write a review on hellopeter...
So, here I am trying to get this contract canceled and hopefully receive a refund for the months I've paid for something I have canceled long ago...
